Positions and Wages

Vans do not ask for any experience to entry level applicants. In order to apply applicants must be at least 18 years old. Some locations may require experience but managers focus on the ability to perform manual labor. Some positions are listed below:
Sales Associate – Sales associates mainly focus on customer service and satisfaction. Associates recommend products, answer customers’ questions, restock merchandise and explain promotions. In order to boast customer satisfaction applicants need excellent communication and customer service skills. Additionally, sales associates maintain store cleanliness. The entry level position hires applicants in part time and most employees work during evenings and weekends. Associates stand for long hours during work, applicants must have physical stamina. New starters usually get minimum wage but associates may earn 9 to 10 dollars an hour. Motivated and experienced associates may get promotions to floor supervisor.
Floor Supervisor – Floor supervisors do basic managerial tasks to help assistant and stock managers. Supervisors are responsible of inventory levels, organization of the store, training and assisting the staff and reaching the sales goals. In addition, floor supervisors also work as sales associates by performing customer service. Interested applicants must have at least one year of retail related work experience and high school diplomas or GED’s. Floor supervisors usually earn 11 dollars an hour. They may earn promotion to assistant or store managers depending on experience and performance and may get paid 40,000 to 50,000 dollars annually.
