Maintenance Technician 

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant equipment, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
  • Participates in plant maintenance program.
  • Repairs or replaces plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as required.
  • Communicates directly with production and shipping/receiving department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
  • Works with engineering department, external contractors and vendors to implement installation of new equipment or systems.
  • Assists with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
  • Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by supervisor.
  • Knows and understands city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance and plant equipment, and works in a safe manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.
  • Works a schedule that occasionally requires overtime or call-in as required.
  • Participates in plant turn-arounds.
  • Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Participates in Health, Safety and Environmental programs.
  • Completes work orders as assigned.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years experience in the maintenance or repair of industrial equipment (pumps, valves, compressors, conveying equipment, etc.) required.
  • Welding experience on carbon/stainless steel preferred.
  • Experience in the maintenance functions of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.
  • Experience in the use of hand and power tools preferred.

Process Operator

Description
  • Responsible for the operation of the plant.
  • Monitors and controls plant Operations, which includes reviewing production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control by communicating directly with the QA/QC laboratory, sampling and testing process streams as required, and interpreting QA/QC results and taking action when required.
  • Participates in plant maintenance, such as performing preventative maintenance as required, assisting maintenance technicians in performing needed repairs, diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
  • Participates in all health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Position requires working a 12-hour rotating shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.

Customer Service Associate 

Provides first level of support to consumer and/or fleet credit card customers by performing basic account maintenance and assisting in the control of credit card receivables. May occasionally provide back-up support for the credit collections function during periods of high activity.
  • Processes incoming customer telephone calls at the standard volume and accuracy rates within the company standards established for 90 days and 6 months from job entry date.
  • Develops a basic working knowledge of the proprietary computer system and telephone systems.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all aspects of the credit card customer’s account by providing basic and routine account maintenance.
  • Demonstrates Valero’s Core Competencies on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists in controlling credit card receivables.
  • Grants credit based on standard parameters, and utilizes good credit granting skills.
  • Adheres to schedule requirements, (including start times, break times, lunch times, and quit times); quality and quantity standards, as outlined on Employee Performance Reviews; and, eQuality monitored call standards.
  • Completes basic duties associated with the Mail Team function as assigned.

This position is salaried nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous college education preferred.
  • Call center experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual-English and Spanish (read, write, speak) preferred.

Terminal Operator

Description

Responsible to train in the safe handling of hazardous materials which includes, USCG, DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations and to implemented before and during all transfers. Performs duties as outlined by the Terminal Manger related to the receipt and shipment of petroleum products via pipeline, dock, and truck.  Responsible for managing multiple tasks and recognize abnormal operating conditions and respond within Valero’s guidelines.

  • Inspects terminal and pipeline equipment to insure integrity.
  • Utilizes the terminal automation system to complete daily inventory and rack activity reports.
  • Monitors volumes, makes product switches, and insures maximum and minimum volumes are not exceeded.
  • Reviews valve line-ups with operations counterparts.
  • Starts and stops pumps.
  • Makes grade switches, monitors for interfaces, and makes valve lineup changes.
  • Utilizes Valero portal to enter daily shift reports.
  • Insures proper measurement techniques are being followed.
  • Gauges, samples and analyzes product as instructed by Terminal Manger.
  • Reads meters, catches samples and performs various lab test as necessary.
  • Utilizes terminal SCADA screens to operate the terminal or pipeline.
  • Unloads gasoline additive shipments as required.
  • Coordinates sampling times with our customers.
  • Answers miscellaneous radio and phone calls.
  • Insures company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of experience in terminal operations preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with all levels of management required.
  • Ability to work in outdoors environment, which could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold, required.
  • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc. as dictated by operations required.
