Financial Assistant: Working equally for both the Feminist Studies and the Black Studies departments, the Financial Assistant provides financial management support to each department’s Business Officer and Department Chair. Financial duties include the following: assists and monitors internal financial controls, reviews monthly financial statements, performs monthly audit and reconciliation of general and payroll ledgers. Under general supervision from the Business Officer, processes invoices, purchase orders, reimbursements, and all departmental travel and entertainment. Collaborates and coordinates with the Business Officer on year-end fiscal closing and carry-forward tasks.

Admissions Counselor: Within the context of broadly written admissions policies and regulations determined by the Board of Admissions and Relations with Schools (BOARS) and the UCSB faculty Committee on Admissions, Enrollment and Relations with Schools (CAERS) a committee of the Academic Senate, the Admissions Counselor/ Evaluator: 1) independently applies broadly written admissions policies, guidelines and practices for freshman, transfer, continuing and returning students, both domestic and international; 2) solves problems requiring interpretation of existing guidelines, practices and procedures; 3) acts on and enforces university and campus policies and procedures; 4) represents the university and campus in outreach and recruitment activities. Selected candidate should not expect extensive student contact in the first year of work. *LI-KA1
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of years of experience. Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation. Ability to represent the University to K-12 school administrators, teachers, counselors and prospective UCSB students, their families and communities at the highest professional level. Ability to relate to and work well with students from diverse backgrounds, manage work load, prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects under the pressure of tight timelines. Excellent public speaking skills, experience conducting workshops, and academic advising. Excellent organizational skills.
Academic Specialist: The Academic Specialist is an experienced professional who applies theory and puts it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. Applies knowledge and skills as a seasoned, experienced academic professional. Provides advice and recommends solutions which may apply to unique (not-clearly-defined) programs and issues without prior precedent.
