Retail Associate

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate must actively strive to create a customer-focused shopping environment. The Associate welcomes customers with a friendly greeting and eye contact, ensures proper merchandise presentation, operates the cash register in accordance with policies and procedures, maintains a clean work area at all times, and treats fellow associates with courtesy and respect.

The Associate also provides customer service according to all Ross customer service guidelines. The Associate may be required to work in various store functions including but not limited to Cash Office, Front End, Fitting Room, Stock Room, Fine Jewelry, Customer Service, Markdowns, Recovery/Sizing, Cashiering, Merchandising, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Maintains clutter-free, clear egress to emergency exits. Immediately corrects or reports any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assists Customers in any way necessary – is register-trained, assists Customers with merchandise, and answers Customer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets all Customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying “hello” throughout the Store as well as saying “thank you” with every register transaction.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers at all times. Responds to Customer Service calls immediately. Handles all Customer issues in a courteous and helpful way, calling a member of the Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Maintains a professional appearance, and adheres to the Company dress code at all times.

Overnight Stock Associate

Greets and responds to all customers in a courteous and friendly manner. Ensures proper merchandise presentation. Operates cash register in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintains a clean work area at all times. Provides customer service according to the Star Service program guidelines. The associate may assist in specialized areas of the store including, Cash Office, Front End, Fitting Room, Stock Room, Fine Jewelry or Customer Service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains good quality customer service at all times
  • Ensures proper merchandise presentation is maintained in accordance with company standards
  • Execution of cashier responsibilities within in company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for controlling shortage through personal awareness and compliance with company standards and theft deterrents
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by store management.

Stock Associate

Greets and responds to all customers in a courteous and friendly manner. Ensures proper merchandise presentation. Operates cash register in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintains a clean work area at all times. Provides customer service according to the Star Service program guidelines. The associate may assist in specialized areas of the store including, Cash Office, Front End, Fitting Room, Stock Room, Fine Jewelry or Customer Service.

Area Supervisor

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty.  Area Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times. Area Supervisors are also responsible for executing and supervising Company operational processes as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
