Position Summary

The Career & Employer Relations Specialist is responsible for proactively initiating contact with existing and prospective employers interested in hiring undergraduate business students in order to engage them in recruiting our students and recent graduates. This specialist will provide workshops on decision-making skills, job search skills, and long-term career management skills for students while linking students to appropriate employers. In addition, this individual will manage relationships with recruiters by developing and organizing a symposium for these individuals. This position will manage the professional mentor program for undergraduate students, including recruiting mentors and matching students with mentors. The position is responsible for overseeing all external ranking activities related to employers. This position will also manage all aspects of School of Business co-operative internship placements. This position reports to the Director of Career & Academic Services in the School of Business Undergraduate Programs Office.

In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement, this position is open only to current PSU academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with employers and college students engaging in placement & recruitment activities.
  • Master’s with 1+ year of related experience.
  • Familiarity with employment law and best practices in hiring & recruiting.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting annual salary rate for this position will be $49,116 with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
