The NP/PA provides quality care across the continuum in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team.
Specifically, the NP/PA position is intended to manage a wide spectrum of gastro –intestinal complaints and disease including but not limited to esophageal disease, inflammatory bowel disease and GI malignancies.
This position will be highly focused on the clinical care of inflammatory bowel disease patients in the outpatient gastroenterology office at The Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
Specifically the outpatient NP/PA will function as a highly independent practitioner within the division and collaborate with physicians. He/she will perform histories, physicals and formulate an assessment and plan as per scope of practice of advanced practitioner.
He/she will perform procedures according to credentialing.
The NP/PA provides care following the nursing process; patient/family teaching; participates in research as appropriate; ensures regulatory compliance and documents care according to standards.
The NP/PA will prescribe in accordance with collaborative agreement and State regulations.
Must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Master’s program approved by the American Medical Association
Must have passed national certification examination that’s administered by NCCPA.
Be a CRNP with a MSN.
Must have current licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of PA. Eligible for credentialing by the medical board.
Must be licensed as a physician assistant’s or CRNP in Pennsylvania.
Must have current CPR certification.
Prior to employment, the PA or NP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.
