Demonstrates high level proficiency in the following software packages or equivalent. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). McKesson Pathways Healthcare Scheduling (PHS). Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation, verbal communication, and written communication skills. Must possess problem solving skills. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple tasks, and execute projects to completion. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology. Ability to type 40 words per minute.
Accounts Support Specialist: The Accounts Support Specialist performs as a cross trained multi functional team member of the office practice. Ensures accurate and timely charge capture and billing of office visits and inpatient charges, front office assistant responsibilities, precertification, scheduling or other administrative functions as assigned. Responsible for collecting physician and technical super bills/rounding sheets daily. Enters and verifies patient demographics and insurance information. Verifies medical benefits and obtains preauthorization to ensure an efficient billing process.
Minimum 2 year experience in a clerical environment, preferably in a healthcare environment. High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and understand a medical record chart with basic math and typing skills. Knowledge of current ICD-9 and CPT codes. Ability to manage time of self and others.
Front Office Assistant: Performs a variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical duties which directly support patient care and practice personnel in the overall operation of the practice. Incumbent is expected to interpret and execute the duties and responsibilities of the job with only limited supervision and direction.
1. 1 year clerical/secretarial experience preferably in a healthcare environment.
