Able Seaman

The Able Seaman / Quarter Master on board will stand watch as helmsman and lookout, maintain a steady course, execute all rudder orders and communicate using navigational terms relating to heading and steering.


  • • Handles the maintenance, cleanliness and manoeuvring of the ship;
  • • Secures navigational watch in order to prevent any possible hazard to the ship;
  • • Controls at the gangway with the Officer on duty;
  • • Performs the manoeuvring and the maintenance for the safety of the ship, the passengers and the Crew;
  • • Minimises the wastage of materials while respecting all rules relating to injury, safety and pollution preventions;
  • • Is capable to drive the Tender/ Lifeboat when the ship is at anchor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • • MUST BE over 18 years of age;
  • • STCW95 “Basic Training” (Basic Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid, PSSR), “ Watchkeeping Certificate” Reg.II/4 and “Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat” are compulsory;
  • • Fluent in English (both written and spoken);
  • • School-leaving certificate;
  • • At least 2 years of experience in deck department and minimum 1 year of experience as Quarter Master/helmsman;
  • • Minimum knowledge of PC;
  • • Sufficient knowledge in Fire Fighting techniques and injury prevention;
  • • Sufficient knowledge in maintenance, technique and seamanship;
  • • Good knowledge of COLREG Regulation.

Assistant Bar Manager

In line with MSC Cruises policies and procedures and under the supervision of the Bar Manager, the Assistant Bar Manager leads a multicultural team and overseen the shipboard beverage operations for all bars/lounges, outlets and crew bar areas in order to achieve the best level of guest satisfaction and revenue.


  • • Assists the Bar Manager, ensuring compliance with quality and sanitation standards and procedures in all Bars, lounges and Crew bars;
  • • Supervises the daily beverage operations in all Guest and Crew Bars as assigned by the Bar Manager;
  • • Assists the Bar Manager to generate maximum sales and profits by creative work procedures;
  • • Controls the daily work of Bar service crew in the assigned bar;
  • • Ensures all bars are fully stocked to par level at all times;
  • • Ensures Guests are not kept waiting unreasonably for service in any bar or associated area;
  • • Supports the Bar Manager in his cost control responsibility through close monitoring of the inventory;
  • • Supervises daily self-inspection checks to ensure all bars, bar pantries, machinery and storerooms meet all Company sanitation and safety requirements;

JOB REQUIREMENTS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • • Fluent English, oral and written. Any additional European language isconsidered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French);
  • • At least 2 years of shipboard experience as Asst. Bar Manager;
  • • Education within hotel/catering industry or equivalent experience in 4/5 star restaurant, hotel or resort;
  • • Computer literacy, knowledge of Fidelio, Micros and MMS is an advantage;
  • • Good management and organisation skills;
  • • Passion about hospitality and customer service driven;
  • • Revenue orientated;
  • • Sound knowledge of accounting and cost control procedures




  • •Allocates funds received via check and wire to reservation system;
  • •Processes refunds, transfers, and other reservation accounting duties;
  • •Assists with daily payment reconciliation batches from bank versus reservation systems;
  • •Provides backups for chargeback disputes with merchant credit cards;
  • •Approves and processes commissions due to agencies;
  • •Reconciles and reports discrepancies found in accounts;
  • •Assists Accounting personnel with month-end and year-end procedures;
  • •Assists all internal departments with inquiries on payment statuses and discrepancies;
  • •Assists with additional department tasks as determined by management.

  • •Fluent English (oral and written skills), any other language considered a plus;
  • •Associates Degree or equivalent education;
  • •Experience in Accounting, Finance or Business;
  • •Proficient computer, technical and troubleshooting skills;
  • •Ability to work flexibly to the needs of the business and under pressure;
  • •Self-starter with a high energy attitude and great sense of urgency;
  • •Extremely organized and detail oriented;
  • •Mathematically proficient with invoicing and Accounts Payable practices;
  • •Performs other job related functions as assigned;
  • •Strong knowledge of relevant computer applications (i.e. Excel).



  • •Explains and promotes the different games, services and activities available in the amusement area;
  • •Increases sales opportunities;
  • •Informs guests of special offers, new products and promotions;
  • •Assists guest in the games activation;
  • •Processes payments;
  • •Looks after amusement area equipment and alerts if maintenance or technical troubleshooting is needed;
  • •Constantly strives to create an entertaining gaming environment, which intrigues, attracts, and retains the attention of our guests;
  • •Handles guests’ complaints and queries;
  • •Focuses on ratings, monthly revenue targets, and operational goals to deliver outstanding customer service and sales results;
  • •Takes part in any extra duties as requested by the specific situation to support the Onboard Revenue team.

  • •Fluent in English, oral and written and in at least 2 of the following languages: German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, Chinese. Any of other language is considered an advantage;
  • •High School graduation certificate;
  • •Previous experience on cruise lines is an advantage;
  • •Computer literacy;
  • •Strong communication and negotiation skills;
  • •Sales orientation;
  • •Attention to details;
  • •Energetic attitude and ability to connect to the guest;
  • •Good public speaking skills is a must;
  • •STCW95 certification is compulsory (basic fire fighting, personal survival techniques, elementary first aid, personal security and social responsibility);
  • •A recognized medical certification is required before starting to work on board.
