Academic Nephrologist: The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center is seeking a full-time faculty member who will participate in the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department of Medicine. Academic Hospitalist: As an academic medical center, Houston Methodist Hospital is dedicated to excellence in patient care, patient safety and the quality of the healthcare experience The Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is currently seeking an additional Academic Hospitalist/Internist to join our team. The position would still be primarily inpatient but also include a couple of half days per week precepting the Internal Medicine residents’ continuity clinic . Interested candidates should have academic interest and focus, and ideally have previous academic experience although 2017 residents are also encouraged to apply. Academic internists will play a vital role in teaching medical students and house officers. Applicants must have an M.D.degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board certified in Internal Medicine. Applicants should have qualifications to meet junior faculty or senior faculty rank. Accountant: Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Accountant is responsible for various monthly closing duties, which include journal entry preparation, cash transaction analysis, account analysis, financial statement preparation, budget preparation, executive management report preparation and distribution and preparation of statutory required reports The Accountant will become familiar with the TMHS corporate structure and its system of internal control. The Accountant will be required to interface with various System departments (i.e., Information Technology, Internal Audit, Employee Benefits etc.), external business partners (i.e., financial services vendors, actuaries, consultants, etc) and government agencies. The position also requires interface with external auditors to complete audit engagements as well as assistance with tax preparation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
2. Maintain assigned general ledger accounts through monthly reconciliation.
3. Assist departments in explanation of actual operating results.
4. Assist in preparing for external audits through preparation of audit schedules.
5. Assist Supervisor with information requests from other departments.
6. Assist with tax preparation.
7. Assist in identifying ways to streamline workload and in documenting departmental procedures and interfaces with other departments.
8. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
