Learning and Development Manager

The Learning and Development Manager (LDM) is responsible for the development and implementation of the Learning and Development (L&D) plan for City Year Miami’s AmeriCorps members (ACMs) so ACMs can provide high quality school service.

LDM aligns Impact Department in execution of plan and collaborates with roles across the site to ensure a positive AmeriCorps Member experience. Assures ACMs are delivering the highest quality service through well-planned, engaging, training spaces that meet the needs of corps members’ learning and development.

LDM reports directly to the Senior Service Director within the Impact Department and works in a team with Instructional Coaches and Evaluation Manager.

Job Description

Implement and Manage AmeriCorps Member Learning and Development: 

  • Collaborate with Senior Service Director, Impact Leadership Team, and L&D Team to develop a ten-month, comprehensive training program for AmeriCorps members with an awareness of adult-learning theory.
  • Plan and execute the logistics and content of L&D spaces throughout the year that are focused on corps member service training, leadership development, and Leadership After City Year  (LACY) which prepares AmeriCorps members to transition out of service back into school or workforce entry.
  • Collaborate with City Year Headquarters to share best practices and continue developing the Learning and Development program.
  • Support and facilitate staff professional development and training opportunities in partnership with the Impact Leadership Team.
  • Schedules, tracks and monitors ACM mandatory trainings
  • Secure venues and other resources for training
  • Track and maintain L&D budget

Impact Manager

The mission of the Impact Manager (IM) role is to lead and develop corps members as a City Year team of idealistic, emerging leaders and practitioners focused on strengthening schools and supporting students as directed by the WSWC missions and practices. Reporting directly to the Impact Director, the IM’s role plays a critical part in implementing City Year’s school-based WSWC service model.

Implement City Year’s WSWC model with a high degree of quality to the right students, in the right time, at assigned schoolhouse(s). The IM will develop and manage partnerships with school administration and personnel to ensure the necessary conditions and resources are in place for corps members to deliver attendance, behavior, and course performance interventions for students.
